HAIDAR CONSULTING, LLC
ClaimView Privacy Policy
This policy describes the current pre-release version of ClaimView. We will update it when the app’s data practices change.
Your inventory stays on your device
ClaimView stores your item records, estimated values, rooms, notes, photos and receipt attachments in app-private storage on your Android device. You choose what to record. The current app does not require an account and does not automatically upload your inventory to a server operated by Haidar Consulting.
Photos, receipts and permissions
Camera access is used when you choose to take a photo. You can also enter records manually and use the system file picker to select photos or receipt files. The app does not request precise location, contacts or microphone access.
Backups and files you share
You can export a ZIP backup containing your records and attachments to a destination you select, which may include a cloud-based document provider. ClaimView also lets you export PDF and CSV inventory reports. Opening receipts in another app makes those files available to the viewer you choose. Storage and sharing services you select handle your files under their own terms and privacy policies.
ZIP backups are not encrypted by ClaimView. Choose an appropriate location for your backups and manage access to exported files.
Text recognition and technical diagnostics
Text scanning uses Google ML Kit to process the selected photo on your device. The app does not upload your inventory or photo content for this text-recognition feature.
ML Kit sends technical information to Google for diagnostics and usage analytics, including installation identifiers, device and app details, performance metrics, feature events and error information. Google documents HTTPS encryption in transit and no third-party sharing for these listed metrics. See ML Kit’s data disclosure and Google’s Privacy Policy for provider handling and retention.
The current build includes Firebase core configuration, but does not offer Firebase account login, cloud inventory storage or Firebase Analytics. It does not serve ads or process purchases. Paid upgrades are planned; this policy will be updated to describe the actual purchase-data handling before those features become available.
Retention, deletion and security
Your local records remain until you delete them, clear app storage or uninstall the app. Use an item’s Delete control to remove that record. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes local app data, but does not remove copies of files you exported. Delete those copies from their selected locations separately.
We cannot remotely recover or delete inventory stored only on your device. The app relies on Android’s private storage protections and does not add a separate encryption layer to the inventory database or exported backups. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
